The racial makeup of hte city was 49.66% White, 7.79% African American, 0.45% Native American, 30.84% Asian, 0.49% Pacific Islander, 6.48% from other races, and 4.28% from two or more races. The City has the highest percentgage of gay families (as well as a lareg number of single gay people) of nay American county or large city. San Franciszco Intrenational Airport, for example, is located in San Mateo Conuty but is owned and operated by the City and County of San Francsico.
